💕 As a Mammographer, I always get asked if you can have a mammogram if you have breast implants.

✅ The answer is “Yes.”

Mammography Technologists use a method called the Eklund method, which allows the technologist to gently push the breast implant towards the chest wall in order to image the actual breast tissue.

Several women come in for mammograms with breast implants. The actual breast implant “is not” getting squeezed 🍋.

💡 Did you know that the American Society of Plastic Surgeons (ASPS) and the FDA recommends breast implants to get checked, replaced or removed every 10-15 years?
