Are you feeling the burnout sensation at work? Some of the reasons for burnout in the workplace could be due to:
Workload
Lack of support
Lack of control
Occupational stress
Did you speak to your supervisor or manager about the burnout sensation that you are experiencing while at work? Did anything get resolved?
Here are some tips you can follow to deal with burnout:
Speak with your supervisor or manager about your concerns
Ask your co-workers for help when encountering a difficult situation or task
Get some sleep at night
Exercise to reduce stress
Take your paid time off (PTO)
Use your sick time/mental time to be away from work
Utilize the 15-minute break that is given at most jobs
Step away from your work environment for lunch breaks and do not eat at your desk
Take a walk while on your lunch break
Limit extra shift hours that you pick up that is optional
Do you know what is the cause of your burnout? Is it your schedule? Do you strive for more work-life balance?
When you are feeling burnout, learn how to use the word "No" or "Not at the moment." You can even say, "I'm sorry, but I'm unavailable."
Focus on the end goal and use that as your motivation to keep striving. When I am at work, I step away from my workspace for 30 minutes and this allows me to recharge and get ready for the second half of my shift. I work in healthcare, and my end goal is making sure I am taking high-quality diagnostic images and providing the best care to help aid in the most accurate diagnosis for the patient, in order for them to receive the best treatment or medication as possible.
